Review:" Good sushi at good prices without the wait. Not the best in town, but certainly in the top 4 sushi restaurants in Austin. This is the place to go with large parties if you don't want to wait or want to eat late. Good atmosphere and many menu items in addition to sushi (for those with weak stomachs). "

"By far, the best sushi in Austin. Highly recommended. Skip the rest and dine here - you'll pay more, but you won't be sorry. Consistently excellent. Be prepared to wait, especially with parties > 4."
- Brian (brian@austin.rr.com) [May 30th 2001]
"This is NOT the best sushi in Austin. It's quite over-hyped. And they serve low-sodium soy sauce in little foil packets, like a fast-food joint. Try Sushi Sake on the north side or Umi on the south side. Both are excellent!"
- S. Henslee (spreadeagle17@austin.rr.com) [January 16th 2002]
"Musashino's is the best sushi in Austin. We eat there almost once a week, and have been served the freshest sushi each time. The waitstaff is always very friendly and attentive. And we have never been served low sodium soy sauce in foil packets... "
- Michelle Smith [January 7th 2003]
"This is by far the best sushi in Austin. It's also one of the best in the US as well. The happy hour is no longer. Bryan (bryan@southwave.com) [August 24th 2004] I have been to Mushashino several times with friends who insist that it is the best in Austin, and have been INCREDIBLY disappointed each and every time. The fish looks nice, but it is bland and tasteless, over priced, and the waitstaff are rude. I would never take anyone there or go on my own. Pacific Blue and Kyoto are much better by far!! Liz in Austin [Dec 13th 2004]"
"Simply Austin's best sushi bar and Japanese restaurant period. The rest are just sad imitators. Try the sea eel and medium toro. Tell Mr. Komizu that Lawrence sent you. "
- Lawrence (rakuchina@yahoo.com)

- Mike Capochiano [April 13th 2005]
"The waitstaff is helpless. They don't know the ingredients of the dishes and either they or the chef won't help come up with alternative rolls (I'm vegetarian, and this is the worst sushi/japanese restaurant in town for animal free choices). The bland cucumber roll I had seemed to have been prepared hours before. The seaweed was rubbery. The chef is OVERRATED! He came from Musashino which is a 100x better. The only thing this place has to offer is prettier decor. "
