| Reviews: | "Sitting unpretentiously along Pacific Coast Highway, 242 Café Fusion Sushi is a welcome addition to the art scene of Laguna Beach. The artist is Miki Izumisawa and her medium is, well, raw fish. As the artist and the only known female sushi chef in Orange County, Izumisawa’s culinary theme is bit different from others’. She recreates the nature, such as landscape, seascape, seasons and even the universe, on a dish. Her real goal is, however, to remind you nature you might have forgotten because of the urban life. Names like Moon & Sun, Aloha Roll, Lava Flow and Green Hill indicate the idea of what she wants you to see and feel through her dishes, while her artworks adorned the wall enhance the sense of nature. The fact that she often uses homegrown veggies to pursue her artistic object may be a big plus. Although small, the restaurant has a festive and lively atmosphere." |
