"This is the best Japanese/sushi restaurant in the Valley. It is very small and you must always call for reservations but the food and service are the very best! "
- Ted Wagner (tedcwagner@yahoo.com) [January 7th 2003]
"Cold glares greeted my family. No wonder the place was as empty as a tomb. First two efforts to order: 'Not tonight.' 'Need 3 day notice.' Our third attempt was to order vegetable tempura: 'Need to make reservation so I can buy the vegetables'. Reservations for vegetable tempura??? None of this was made clear when I made our reservation. This restaurant makes great pretense to be a fusion of kaiseki and high-end sushi, but even if it did succeed (it's a failure), it is not worth the abuse and cold rudeness. Consider yourself warned. Anyone who pays $100-$200 for mediocre food to be served by staff with concentration-camp guard demeanor needs their head examined. "

Review: | "The Sushi Bar inside the fish market is excellent. The fish market building also contains two seafood restaurants, an oyster bar, and (yes) a fish market. The sushi chefs preparations are both beautiful and tasty, and the fish is always fresh and excellent. I especially like the yellowtail sashimi." |
