Reviews: | " Great little sushi and tempura restaurant in south Anchorage. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. Peter does a great job behind the sushi bar. A favorite of local sushi enthusiasts. " |

"This is my favorite place to date. A little cozy restaurant, good service, reasonable prices, and absolutely fantastic sushi! Everything is super fresh and top quality. When I arrive in Anchorage (which is never often enough), this is my first stop. Highly recommended. "

Reviews: | "Peter Park opened up his own sushi restaurant in April 2003, after having been the principal sushi chef at Ichiban. Don't be fooled by the outward location of the Sushi Spot, a few doors down from Anchorage Pet Emergency, in the middle of a strip mall located in midtown Anchorage. The interior space has been completely remodeled and features a sushi bar, table seating, and approx. four private rooms. The quality of ingredients is a cut above what we have been used to in Anchorage. I was most impressed by the freshness of the hamachi - the best I have had here in town. There are several rolls featured on the menu, my personal favorite being the Rainbow Roll. A new delicacy can be had as an appetizer: broiled mackerel. Great with a cold Sapporo! The location of the Sushi Spot is not really within walking distance of any hotel; if you are visiting from out of town, though, it is definitely worth the cab ride! " |

"Sadly, on July 12, 2008, Peter's Sushi Spot burned to the ground. At this point it is not known if the restaurant will be rebuilt. "

Review: | "As a devout Sushi lover (after having spent 4 years in Japan) I made a weekly treck across the city to indulge myself because no sushi houses existed on my side of town. I was thrilled (though a bit skeptical) when Samurai Sushi opened just minutes from my home! The first time I entered I was amazed! No one would EVER gusses that this building used to be a Taco Bell - the interior is simply lovely and the ambiance is both inviting and tranquil and manages to combine modern/ contemporary influences with classic traditionalism with grace. The menu is extnesive, fresh, expertly prepared and the service is both quick and friendly with 'regulars' quickly being remembered by name. The menu fetures upwards of 20 'specialty' rolls as well as many 'traditional' rolls with a lovely assortment of apetizers and beautifully prepared 'standard' Japanese fair along with a few creative, multi-asian inspired dishes. The vast number of (sometimes comical) misspellings and gramatical errors on the menu show you that the Japanese chefs who prepared it are the real thing - this is not americanized fiar but the real deal. Sushi at it's best " |

Review: | "Opened in June 2005. Hands down, the premier place for sushi in Alaska. The food is immaculately fresh, the service is spot-on, and the sushi bar is loads of fun. The chefs are extremely friendly, and the interior layout and design is absolutely beautiful. The menu is extensive, and offers a wide variety of beverages as well. They also offer reception/banquet rooms and will hold large parties upon advance request. " |
