Review: | "This restaurant is a little gem hiding in the usually bland food available in New Westminster. Much like a neighbourhood ´mom and pop´ operation you´d find in Japan, this restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere (except on very busy weekend nights, when it bustles madly). Kasuga Sushi combines fresh food extremely well prepared with reasonable prices. The menu is large and varied, with a good selection of sushi of many varieties available, as well as a wide variety of other japanese food. All sushi is freshly prepared. For those who can´t decide what to have, there is a seasonal special plate designed to reflect the chef´s high points, and let you test the waters. The daily specials change whenever something very fresh or interesting comes into the restaurant. The menu also has some vegetarian options available. Seating is limited, but a tatami room is available for parties of 16 at a time. Take out is available, but call well in advance on weekends for these orders (on very busy weekends, take out is not accepted). This is by far our favourite sushi place in the Vancouver area. Our only complaint is that we have to find something else to eat on Mondays, when they´re closed. " |
