Review: | "Opened in summer 2000. Marvelous sushi place in the best part of the city. Trendy and modern design with a touch of Japanese influences. A great place to eat something really good, or just to relax, take a latte and some homebaked pie. Soft music, harmonious atmosphere. If you are in town - do not miss it!" |

"East may have good Sushi but the price you have to pay for it is: 1. Sloooow service 2. Sloppy behaviour by the wannabees/hasbeens that work there who obviously believe they are celebrities. 3. Ridicolous prices. East used to be cool. Now, it's only a shadow left of what used to be. Go some place else. "

Furusato |
Name: | Furusato |
Address: | Artillerigatan 83, Stockholm |
Phone: | +46 8 664 69 00 |
Reviews: | "A very plain and tiny Japanese restaurant in the middle of one of Stockholms many residential areas, its location being the main factor for this restaurant´s survival. At best, the sushi is average and not seldom lacking in skillful preparation. The vicinity of Miyako on Kommendörsgatan, leaves tourists with no excuse to visit Furusato at all." |
- David Igra (david@itt.org)
"Furusato has been closed, fortunately. In a short period of time, the owners of Roppongi will open a filial there or so the word has it. "

Address: | Kungshallen, Kungsgatan, Stockholm |
Phone: | (08) 211-195 |
Opened: | Mo-Sat: 11am-11pm, Sun:Noon-11pm |
Reviews: | "Mighty fine sushi for reasonable dollars. " |
- Bengt Borje | |
"The staff of Ikki has an unpleasant habit of ignoring the few and bold customers they still have. As it is located in a food-court with very liberal open-hours, it manages to survive from unknowing tourists happy to find a Japanese alternative in the late hour. Sadly they can all expect to be sourly dissapointed since rubber is what comes to mind when attempting to digest what they call 'sushi', if at all you are being served anything but the bill which has actually happened on more than one occasion (!). It can only be due to immense patience that the Japanese authorities have yet to sue this third-rate eating house for defamation. "

Review: | "The sushi is really fresh and tastes great, but the restaurant is very small. Recommended: take away rather than to eat in the restaurant, since it doesn't provide much privacy or comfort. The miso soup is ok but nothing to get too excited about. But the sushi is definitely worth a visit. Not very expensive. " |

Opened: | Mandag-Fredag: lunch 11am-3pm, kvällsmeny 5pm-10pm, Lördag 5pm-10pm,Söndag 5pm-9pm |
Reviews: | "Probably the best sushi in Sweden." |
"With one of Stockholm's most experienced chefs in the art of preparing sushi, Roppongi does well in the evenings. Lunchtime is as always, not equally splendid. The interior leaves much to wish for in regard of peace at mealtimes, of which there is virtually none due to its rather limited space. "
- David Igra (david@itt.org)[August 2nd 2000]
"The restaurant offers several dishes (starters) insipired by Nobu: ceviche, new style sashimi and tuna/yellow tail tartar. They do them pretty well, though certainly not as perfect as the original, but definitely worth a try. People mainly order sushi sets and they consist mainly of salmon (which is very popular in Sweden). The nigiri waits precut in the cooler on the counter for fast service. The rice for the sushi is too sweet and slightly too sticky. They serve sake in wine glasses, which is strange. So no wooden boxes to drink sake from and no salt to accompany with. They seem to have lots of takeaways from people living in this upmarket part of Stockholm. You can also sit outside besides a bustop. It might be alright for the natives, who enjoy their daylight in summers, since the winters are long dark hours. But I wonder whether the Diesel fumes do any good to the sushi ? The place is ok, but far from being authentic."
- Sushi World Guide Crew (Aug 18th 2008]
"I can tell you that the buses of Stockholm all run on either ethanol, biogas or hidrogen cells. So I would worry more about the fumes coming from the Italian restaurant on the corner, if the service is bad you just might end up there instead. "

- David Heinemann (david.heinemann@hiq.se) [November 16th 1998]
"I would dare to say ,one of the best sushi restaurants in the City. The sushi is fresh and well prepaired. The seaweed is always nice and I haven't been served a nigiri that was chewey yet. The pricing is fair, compared with other sushi restaurants in the vicinity. The restaurant is pretty small and is easily overcrowded if you arrive too close to 12 o'clock. I would guess it accomodates approximatily 25 to 30 guests or so. It has been a personal favorite of mine for a while now and I can strongly recommend it. "
