Reviews: | "Fresh fish at reasonable prices. Probably the best sushi in Cologne." |
| - Yoshi Kanabu (kanabusan@gmx.de) [July 11th 1999] |
| "Strange restaurant with sushibar where you can sit at the bar or some highchairs at tables. Unfortunately you can't look at the fish behind the bar because of a tinted glass. So you see the chefs working but can't see the fish (hope they don't have to hide something). They offer quite cheap sushi combos as well as a la carte. So so, the service is ok, but the atmosphere is uninviting. Drinks are served from a cooler like in a supermarket." |
| - THE SUSHI WORLD GUIDE [August 2nd 2000] |
| "The place is getting quite crowded in the evenings, also due to the
take-away-service which seems to be flourishing. If you like having your sushi in a 'Kneipe'
atmosphere you might feel well here.

| "Of course our Sushi Bar doesn`t look like a traditional japanese Sushi restaurant.
But you can find original high quality Sushi made by professional japanese Sushi Cooks.
Visit our homepage and you can see how it looks like (www.sushi-club.de).
We get our fish 3 times a week from the fish market in Paris (biggest in Europe) which makes sure
that we offer absolute fresh fish.
Since nearly 1 year we only use Bio Salmon which is 100% chemical free.
Our Tuna (Bluefin)is 'Dolphin-safe' cought.
Our Sea Urchin (Uni) is via air cargo fresh imported.
We do our business because we love Sushi like you do.

| "Cheap? no way!! This shop is too dirty to serve any Sushi!! The smell of rotten fish disgusted me when I entered this place to see if the review of this site is right or wrong...anyhow, these asians (non-japanese) don´t seem to have much experience with japanese food - like the guests, eating this stuff...try and see what I am writing about." |

the fish questionable - AVOID.

| "With the quite controversial reviews on this site, I would normally not have visited this restaurant. However, somebody whose opinion I normally value suggested to me that it is a great place to go, so I tried it out. While the ambience is certainly intriguing - this place could also be in a night market somewhere in Asia - the quality unfortunately was not consistent. The first time I went there, sushi was decent (while not great), but the second time I visited (this time with my family), the tunafish was actually far from fresh so that we did not finish it after eating a few bites. Unfortunately, the few bites that I had eaten were already enough to wreak havoc on my digestion that day, so it was not really a pleasant experience for me. I can not endorse this restaurant.

memorable. Everything else is fine, too, and the service is the most attentive I ever encountered
in a Japanese Restaurant. A real pleasure.

| "Since beginning of 2001 they have a NEW MENU. The place is now run by a Japanese couple, though still supervised by the owners of Kintaro.
The new menu offers more inventive cuisine like Nobu or Itsu. They offer tuna and sake tataki, tuna carpaccio with avocado, unagi, hamachi, uni and rolls like spicy tuna rolls and california rolls. For lunch they have a bentobox with a nive overview of their menu. It is a small but very excellent place with outstanding quality and very nice and attentive service. " |

Review: | "Small but nice Kaiten (conveyor belt) restaurant. This is sometimes a bit of a disadvantage, but they have a very wide selection (about 70 different sushi and starters on their menu, most of them available daily). Fish was good and fresh when I went there.
The owners are young and very friendly and will cater to your needs - if you do not see what your heart craves for, just check the menu, ask them and they will prepare what you want and place it on the conveyor (if the workload permits it).
Daily from 18:00 to 23:00 they offer a very fair All-you-can-eat offer for EUR 24,90.
Check the website for the menu and directions.
