Aishiteru

Name:Aishiteru
Address:Puri Indah Mall, 1st Fl (near Pizza Hut), Puri Indah Mall, 1st Fl (near Pizza Hut)
Review:" Opened in early November 2003. I tried this resto in last week and I found the nigiri sushi is fine, but the rolls are a bit dissapointing. They are mostly in mini rolls except the California Roll only. The ambient is OK, but they need to do something with the air ventilations. Because I can smell 'fishy' in there. "

Aishiteru

Name:Aishiteru
Address:Puri Indah Mal, 1st fl (next to Pizza Hut) - Kembangan - Jakarta Barat
Review:"Opened in November 2003. This is one of view only sushi resto in westside of Jakarta (mostly in south side). Comfy place to have nigiri sushis. I don't recommend the rolls because they are so tiny! Except the California Roll (2pcs of huge ones). Nigiris are cheap here. Sake, unagi, tako, eby etc are under $2/pair with fairly large enough portion of fish. "

Aji Hara

Name:Aji Hara (Rasa Lapar)
Address:Jalan Melawai IX No. 3A, Blok M, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta
Phone:(62) 21-720-8149
Review:"Opened in 1992. Recently extended to cover two floors. Originally located upstairs only with a cafe-style atmosphere, Aji Hara was popular with Japanese salarymen wanting to relax with sushi, a bowl of their excellent hot noodles and a selection of the wide range of Manga comic books. Definitely made them feel at home. Last year the more formal downstairs dining area was added, with the same combination of sushi (very generous and succulent portions), hot dishes (the hot dish menu is entirely in Japanese, so you must know the cuisine) and excellent attentive service. Prices in rupiah have risen recently, but a typical self-indulgent blow-out for 2 should not cost more than US$30-40, including drinks. I´ve been going for 5 years, and the standard of food, cleanliness and atmosphere has not changed. The proprietor and his Indonesian wife run a great business here."

Aozora Sushi Lounge CLOSED !

Name:Aozora Sushi Lounge CLOSED !
Address:Jl. Kemang Raya 69 G, Jakarta Selatan

Review:"I just found out that this place serves great sushis! A nice place with romantic jazz tunes played. Love that spicy tuna rolls! The pricing is inexpensive (Rp.150.000-250.000 for 4 kind of sushi-rolls). The place is almost hidden in corner with a small signage on front. Keep your eyes open when you are looking for AOZORA! "

Blowfish Bar & Resto

Name:Blowfish Bar & Resto
Address:Menara Bank Danamon, Mega-Kuningan,Jakarta Selatan
Phone:(021) 5799-1678
Reviews:"Opened in April 2003. A high-class place with pricey sushis. The food is great. The people are nice. The place is a penthouse appartment building. Nice interior for sushi-lovers who look for romantic ambient. Not recommended for sushi beginners. The price is expensive (Rp. 250.000-400.000 for two). There is a nice bar for wine drinkers on the upper floor and very nice wine bottles display. "

Ichiban Sushi

Name:Ichiban Sushi
Address:Mal Puri Indah, Jakarta Barat
Review:"Opened in July 2004. This is the same Ichiban Sushi as in Plaza Senayan, but this is an a la carte restaurant not a quick-order-type like in Senayan. The outlook & menu is convincing, but in reality the sushi (especially rolls) is very....lost my word....for beginners. The price is cheap, around rp.10,000-25,000 for 4-cut rolls and rp.10,000-15,000 for nigiri sushi. "

Japenggo

Name:Japenggo
Address:Plaza Semanggi, Floor 3A No.5, Jakarta Selatan
Phone:(021) 2553 6364
Review:"This small restaurant serves very decent sushis!! I wasn't convinced when I saw the outlook and they should make better menu-book!! But, after I had my first bite then I know this is not just a fancy looking sushi resto. I ordered rolled sushi, like Spicy Tuna, Godzilla, Dragon and Caterpillar. They all very tasty!!! Then I recognized the chef, he was working in a top sushi resto before. The price is slightly more expensive than other resto. They have 2 sizes of sushi portion : small (4 cuts) and large (8 cuts). Small portion is around rp.32,000 to 38,000 when you can get 6 cuts at other resto with the same price. Overall, this is will be my favourite place to have nice sushi in this new mall in Jakarta. "

Sakura

Name:Sakura

Review:"This place is still my favourite place, to enjoy sushis, since 6 years ago. It's owner is a Japanese, the food is traditional Japanese with a sushi counter, and 2 tatami rooms. This restaurant is often visited by the Japanese family who live in Jakarta. The place is comfy, clean, with a friendly waitresses which has a nice attentive service. The price is reasonable, you can get more than enough with range between Rp.150.000- 200.000 for two. The hot dish menu is entirely in Japanese, but for the Indonesian who don't understand, they still can select view menus from it picture. My fav is Nigiri Sushi Set with a cold Udon. "

The restaurant is designed like a traditional country house. It is a must for all japanese food lovers that go to Indonesia. The restaurant is located in the Grand Hyatt hotel."

Sushi Tei

Name:Sushi Tei
Address:Plaza Indonesia, 1st Floor, Jl. MH Thamrin, Jakarta
Review:"Nice food, nice interior and nice people. But this is 'wondering-around-sushi-type' resto. Colored plate for price codes. Same as Sakai Sushi at Taman Anggrek Mall. The price is fair enough. Try the famous Jo Unagi (Rice with Eel on top). Yummy !! "

Tokio Joe

Name:Tokio Joe

Review:"Tokio Joe is a long-famous sushi resto in Jakarta. Very fine sushi and nice japanese decoration with sushi-bar style in the corner. The ambient is romantic, and they have a big tatami room for a party I suppose. Try Tokio Joe's special rolls. I just love them. I've heard that lot of sushi-chiefs in Jakarta were learnt (work experience) here before they really working at new places. "

Wine Tei

Name:Wine Tei
Address:Jl. Dr. Kusuma Atmaja, SH No 83 Menteng, Jakarta
Phone:392 2668
Review:"Located in a renovated mansion, Wine Tei has a Japanese-Moroccan minimalist décor. It's 'piece de resistance' is the North-African inspired ceiling piece, which was painted with exquisite precision using colors like desert rose, camel and gold.Best described as a blend of French and Japanese cuisines, Wine Tei's menu includes items like French Onion Soup, a variety of grill options, sushi and sashimi. Hot Stone Beef, which is found in very few Jakarta restaurants, is a favourite here. The Spicy Tuna rolls were the nicest I've had in a while, with the layers of flavour revealing themselves in stages and not all at once. The Hawaiian Style Tuna Avocado and Seaweed Salad, is a colourful choice for those wanting a more inventive dish. Wine Tei is very reasonably priced with dinner for 2 costing around Rp. 200,000.As it's name suggests, it has a comprehensive wine list, as well. The space can be rented for parties and meeting and in the near future, entertainment will include live music. Reservations are recommended on the weekend. "
